Dr Graham Birch has a PhD in mining geology from Imperial College and is a specialist in the world of precious metals and mining. During a long career in the City, he managed award winning multi-billion-dollar portfolios for BlackRock Inc – the world’s largest asset management business. He is currently a director of Sprott Inc, a $50 billion Canadian fund management company focused on gold, silver and critical metals. A lifelong collector of coins, Graham is particularly interested in the monetary role of precious metals. The Metal in Britain’s Coins, his first book, was published by Spink Books in 2020 and is newly available in paperback alongside his new book, A History of Britain in 100 Coins.
